The Counter Sales Clerk provides exceptional customer service while assisting customers with building materials, masonry products, and hardware. This role is responsible for processing sales, maintaining inventory, coordinating deliveries, and supporting daily retail operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers with product selection and recommendations.
- Process sales transactions, orders, quotes, and invoices.
- Maintain product knowledge and assist with inventory, stocking, and merchandising.
- Promote current sales, special offers, and additional products.
- Resolve customer concerns, returns, and exchanges professionally.
- Coordinate with warehouse and management to fulfill customer orders and deliveries.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety, environmental, and PPE requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred.
- 3+ years of customer service, retail, inventory, or construction-related experience preferred.
- Knowledge of building materials, masonry, hardscapes, or construction products is a plus.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license required.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday.
